Ivan R. Reich Partner Ivan R. Reich is a 1985 graduate of Vanderbilt University as well as 1988 graduate of their law school. He concentrates his practice in the area of bankruptcy and corporate reorganizations with a strong emphasis and background in commercial litigation. Ivan's commercial litigation background includes bankruptcy issues relating to banking, lender liability, commercial landlord-tenant, securities, intellectual property, antitrust, real estate, asset protection, post and prejudgment remedies and collections, foreclosures, and both state and federal appeals. Ivan also concentrates on Directors and Officers, Management Liability, as well as underlying bankruptcy matters brought against professionals; and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) matters. Ivan is the immediate past president and a former recording secretary of the Commercial Law League of America, the nation's oldest and largest creditors' rights organization. He is and has been a member of the league's Board of Governors and has served as chair of the league's bankruptcy and young members sections, and as chair of its southern region. He is also chair of the league’s presidential advisory committee, and has chaired the league's national meetings committee, and serves on the league's government affairs committees, as well as the coordinating and joint planning committee with the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges. Recently, Ivan served as counsel to the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases of Femwell Group Health, Inc. (Miami), American Financial Group of Aventura (Miami), Shores of Panama, Inc. (Panama City), Berwick Black Cattle Co. (Peoria, Illinois), Tutor Time Learning Systems, Inc. (Fort Lauderdale), and Conseco Finance Corp. (Chicago), which were part of the then third-largest bankruptcy in U.S. history. He worked as a staff member on the U.S. Senate Governmental Affairs Committee for former Vice President Albert Gore Jr. and on Vice President Gore’s senatorial and 1988 presidential campaigns. Ivan has been an adjunct professor at Nova Southern University’s Sheppard Broad Law Center, where he taught bankruptcy law, and at Broward Community College, where he taught business law. Ivan lectures frequently and has numerous publications, has been designated a Florida “Super Lawyer since 2008 and well as recognition by Florida Trend as a “Legal Elite” in 2010.
